The first truly "unified" civilization in Western History, Egypt grew up along the banks of the Nile River. What started as two small, divided kingdoms unified into a civilization that has created some of the most memorable icons in ancient history. The pyramids and the sphinx are both in the forefront of the minds of students of history, young and old alike when the ancient world is mentioned.
